Once again, in such a short delay, we will participate to another exhibition in Milan, SMAU 2021, focused on innovative ideas and products. We will showcase some of the use cases around the interaction between Artificial Intelligence and 5G infrastructure, to create new and disruptive market segments.
Two use cases, only apparently apart, will be showcased:
5G Automotive Digital Twin, for smart mobility
5G Automotive Digital Twin is an evolution of the Advanced Driving Assistant Systems (ADAS) system that provides alerts to vehicles to improve safety during urban driving operations. The 5G-ADT indeed uses heterogeneous data sources at roadside to perform real-time analysis of road users behaviors to correct driving operations. By leveraging the 5G infrastructure through an in-vehicle application, 5G-ADT provides timely instructions and alerts, suggesting safe and correct driving behaviors. As an example scenario, in case of abnormal conditions, 5G-ADT is able to suggest in advance to the driver the correct and safe way to deal with the situation thus reducing safety risks and improving ecological behaviors. This approach is radically different from current ADAS systems that focus on accident prevention, e.g. preventing driver actions through emergency braking, through vehicle data processing.
AuverCare, for the healthcare of tomorrow
AuverCare is a monitoring system for patients during hospital care providing 24/7 surveillance. The service detects risky behaviors and provides continuous track of patient health status to the medical personnel. AuverCare works through a multi-modal video fusion, where patient anonymity remains guaranteed. The device continuously gathers health parameters to the medical staff and in case of risky behaviors or abnormalities, the system automatically transmits alerts and alarms to the hospital ward. In addition, the embedded AI core ensures that all data captured are processed locally, without relying on remote services. Sensitive patient data, thanks to AuverCare, will not be transmitted externally.
