When 5G Multi access Edge Computing enables Distributed Ledger…

In this latest scientific contribution, presented at the IEEE 94th Vehicular Technology Conference VTC 2021, CNIT and Sma-RTy Edge & 5G people collaborated to demonstrate vehicular computation offloading using Multi access Edge Computing (MEC) technology. It reveals as an interesting use case for Multi access Edge Computing (MEC) application for Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT), where blockchain transactions are executed directly at the edge of the network.

Sma-RTy contributed with its on-premise 5G MEC infrastructure, fully compliant with ETSI MEC standards and locally deployed at the Leghorn Port Authority.

Sma-RTy Edge at IEEE MeditCom

The Sma-RTy Edge business unit will present a new conference paper at the IEEE MeditCom 2021, held in Athens from September 7th to 10th 2021, this year in a Hybrid In-Person and Virtual Conference format.

A new scientific publication to Frontiers in Medicine –…

Clermont Ferrand – Today we are pleased to share the latest scientific contribution to the “Frontiers in Medicine” review (Impact Factor 5.091), done in collaboration with Universite Clermont Auvergne and the Centre Hospitaliere Universitaire (CHU) at Clermont Ferrand (France).

The review article is entitled “Risk-taking behaviors of adult bedridden patients in neurosurgery: what could-should we do?” and includes the ethical and methodological perspectives when considering risk-taking behaviors of adult bedridden patients. Today it is an open issue, but let’s try to imagine newer perspectives fro the futures. What new technologies can do?

Milano, Italy – As previously mentioned in our last blog entry, the Sma-RTy HealthTech business unit extends its presence in Italy by joining the “Cluster Lombardo Scienze della Vita” (Lombardy’s Life Sciences Cluster). 5G Digital Twin experimentation @IRISIreland

With the nowadays improvement in information technologies, smart and connected objects are almost a constant presence in our daily life. Things were significantly different in 1991 though, when Mark Weiser (Principal Scientist at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center) was proposing a new, visionary concept. In his idea, technology should continuously interact with our daily life, as a transparent barrier between real and virtual world. That was later defined, the “ubiquitous computing” paradigm, where ubiquitous stands for everywhere and anywhere.

When Deep Learning Meets Digital Image Correlation

Our latest scientific dissemination has been published on the Elsevier “Optics and Lasers in Engineering”, January 2021 issue.

Seyfeddine and Kamel have worked together to bring artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies to Digital Image Correlation applications. No wonder to see that something disruptive happened. Once more, our R&D collaborations receive valuable feedback from the scientific community.
